Today my group and I went to science at Tamaki. The first thing we did was write down on our computers / books, "Topic 5 Flower Power". The next thing we did was write down some of the things she put up on the board about flowers and what did we first realize when we saw the flower. When we were done that, our science teacher Mrs. Sharna gave out hibiscus flowers to everyone to do an experiment with it. After that we watched a video on how to open the flower up and pull the top part of the stigma out. For some students it was a struggle, but eventually everybody got it. From that moment forward we pulled some of the anther off the hibiscus flower and we put it onto an science glass and mashed it up then put it under an microscope to see what we could find. Other than that it was really fun.
Kia orana Baker. I really enjoyed your explanation about hibiscus flower parts, and I really enjoyed how you explained everything you did step by step. You're picture reminds me of my drawing on the hibiscus flower and I think I was in the same class as you. How hard did you find dissecting the hibiscus flower?
